Christmas decorations traditionally stay up until Feb. 2–Purification of Mary.

But don’t forget, I’m from New Orleans. Epiphany begins the Carnival season and that’s a whole different set of decorations! Our mantel creche does stay up well into February.

I have a Peruvian nativity set that I absolutely love. I started keeping it up year round some years ago. Though not displayed as prominently as it is during Christmas. I figure I have crucifixes and statues displayed year round, why not the creche.

Christmas season officially ends the Baptism of our Lord, so I try to wait until then, but sometimes a little earlier than that. Although people say that the decorations stayed up until Candlemas, I can’t find a source on that. It’s the Christmas Cycle, but not the Christmas season, even in the old Calendar.
