Christmas decorations traditionally stay up until Feb. 2–Purification of Mary.

  2. But don’t forget, I’m from New Orleans. Epiphany begins the Carnival season and that’s a whole different set of decorations! Our mantel creche does stay up well into February.

  3. I have a Peruvian nativity set that I absolutely love. I started keeping it up year round some years ago. Though not displayed as prominently as it is during Christmas. I figure I have crucifixes and statues displayed year round, why not the creche.

  4. my parents used to joke that they leave their tree up til lincoln’s birthday.

  5. Christmas season officially ends the Baptism of our Lord, so I try to wait until then, but sometimes a little earlier than that. Although people say that the decorations stayed up until Candlemas, I can’t find a source on that. It’s the Christmas Cycle, but not the Christmas season, even in the old Calendar.
