For the past two years I have hung our traditional Advent wreath. It is very pretty hanging and alleviates the problem of wear to put the big wreath. We keep ours downstairs where we say our nightly rosary, and table space is at a premium.
Yesterday, a trip to my nearby thrift store yielded this beautiful hanging Advent wreath. Who knows if that was its original purpose, but that’s what I am looking forward to using it for. It was missing the four glass votive holders but for $3 I can’t complain, and I had extras waiting at home. I could even put larger candles into the votive holders. That might look nice for Advent. Here it is with some fall votives.
The big question last night was: “what’s the bowl for?” The bowl is very pretty and hand blown. I say, flowers, greenery, pine cones, shiny round Christmas ornaments, festive floating candles, Holy Water, and since it looks like it will be a year ’round item, even Easter eggs. One of the kids even suggested a goldfish! Any ideas?
