Thanksgiving has never been one of our top holidays. It always seems like a launch into Advent or a practice run for Christmas dinner. For some it’s a sports day. For me, Thanksgiving morning means a chance to see the Rockettes on tv in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade,. Along with my Mom, I always looked forward to this when I was a kid. Now my kids (well, some of them) do the same. Although we acknowledge that the Macy’s parade is Christmas commercialism at its very worst, unless you get to an actual show, this is usually your only chance to get a glimpse of these world famous precision dancers.

The Rockettes will perform live in the Plaza on Friday’s Today Show! Check your local listing for the time and be sure to tune in for this special sneak preview.
As for the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, I must admit that I do have my favorite inflatable characters including Bullwinkle, Rocky, and Underdog, but it’s the Rockettes that are the highlight of my Thanksgiving morning!
