Sunday prayer request

A special and urgent prayer request from my dear friend Joan:

Dear Friends,
For some of you this is an update, for some of you this is new news. I am compelled to get the word out to as many friends as possible, and to ask you to spread the word as we storm heaven for a miracle for our Andrew Jon.

Thank you so much for your love and prayers. We feel completely surrounded by God’s love at this time and know He will sustain us through everything.

So after meeting with the doctor yesterday after the ultrasound he confirmed that my placenta is shutting down, and has been slowly for some time. Andrew is critically small at 12oz. He will not survive more than three weeks in the womb, but his chances of survival after a c-section aren’t good either. We have an ultrasound Monday at Children’s hospital in Minneapolis and will meet with their NICU staff and care coordinators as well and decide what to do then.

Last night we spoke to a family friend and doctor who told us there is a chance Andrew won’t make it through the weekend to get to Monday’s appointment. And as I am feeling so little movement due his size and lack of fluid I likely won’t know until I get to the ultrasound. But if we were to deliver him now he would have no chance of making it. As Joe said in his e-mail from the hospital yesterday, they are giving me steroid injections to prepare his lungs for delivery next week if he makes it that long. The only thing that can help us now is a miracle. We are interceding to Blessed Mother Theresa for a miracle for our Andrew Jon and asking everyone we know to do the same. Please contact your church prayer lines, prayer groups, and any prayer warriors you know and beg them to pray for a miracle for our Andrew Jon. Our good friend Fr. Andrew gave us a First Class relic of Mother-her hair-to hold onto until Andrew is born. We’re happy to be the recipient of the miracle she needs for canonization!

An around the clock prayer vigil has been set up for Andrew Jon Lichty at least until next Monday at 10:30a.m. after the next scheduled ultrasound is completed. There is a link above the spreadsheet to the form where you may input your name and the date/hour when you will pray. This hour does not necessarily have to be 100% devoted to praying for Andrew, but at least pray for him throughout the hour – pray that the Lord sustains him one more hour.
