Please keep him in your prayers. This from the family blog:
Jack is in
Monday, October 26th, 2009
We woke Jack up at 3:00 am for his last bottle, which he slept through and went right back to bed! So adorable! We arrived at the hospital very early and they took him into the operating room at about 7:45. We have a pager so we can roam the hospital and the doctor will be giving us updates every hour or so. The internet access is sketchy, but we will keep posting as the day goes on. If all goes smoothly, he will be out around 2:00.
Keep praying, as we are, for Jack and the staff here at the hospital. May we unite our will to God’s will today and every day!
1st update: We have heard from the dr that all Jack’s lines went in easily and they are about 40% complete. Jack is doing very well so far. Next update at about 11:30. Nurses have all fallen for the little charmer!
Heart is back “on” again: The doctors just came out! Jack’s heart is repaired and is pumping on it’s own again! He did so well during the surgery! Now we will have a lot of waiting and watching to see how he recovers. He will be out to intensive care in about an hour. He will remain on the ventilator during the first 24 hours given his past history with breathing problems after surgery. He will also be kept sedated for much of the next 24 hours. More later and pray for no complications!
Off ventilator: Jack is doing very well and does not need a ventilator. The Dr is using an external pacmenker to assist Jack’s heart with the right rhythm. All normal and to be expected. Overall the Dr. gives Jack an A+, in his own words. If the night goes well Jack me be released to the general floor tomorrow. All of these prayers are helping, so thanks and keep them coming!

Easter A.
