A New Orleans landmark, dating back to 1965, is scheduled for demolition. I know, 1965 can hardly be called historical, but if you grew up in the lakefront area, the Robert E. Lee Theater was a major part of your life. Even more so for me, as I worked at the Robert E. Lee as a cashier in the late 70’s. The Robert E. Lee was a luxurious single screen theater located in a neighborhood strip mall. The theater closed in 1991.

This shot of the theatre was taken after hurricane Katrina. Here I am in the 70’s working as cashier. Remember when someone actually answered the phone at movie theatres? That was me.
