The Catholic Church gives us numerous opportunities to celebration vocations. Sunday, April 13 is World Day of Prayer for Vocations
The Church prays everyday to the Holy Spirit for the gift of vocations. Gathered around the Virgin Mary, Queen of the Apostles, as in the beginning, the ecclesial community learns from her how to implore the Lord for a flowering of new apostles, alive with the faith and love that are necessary for the mission.
— POPE BENEDICT XVI, for the 45th World Day of Prayer for Vocations, 2008

Litany for Vocations
God, our Father, Creator who calls us to life: Have mercy on us.
God the Son, Faithful Servant: Have mercy on us.
God the Holy Spirit, Life-Force of Courage: Have mercy on us.
Mary, Mother of Jesus, our High Priest: Pray for us.
St. Joseph, her spouse: Pray for us.
St. Peter and St. Paul, First Apostles: Pray for us.
St. Benedict and St. Scholastica: Pray for us.
St. Dominic, St. Francis, St. Ignatius: Pray for us.
St. John Vianney: Pray for us.
St. Elizabeth Ann Seton: Pray for us.
All holy men and women of God: Pray for us.
Lord, give the gift of a generous heart to parents and those called to priesthood and religious life. We ask this through Christ, Our Lord. AMEN

Hello Easter,
I didn’t know how appropriate my post was to the spiritual mom directive! Although we have no organized spiritual mom program here in St. Louis like you do, my parish, which is connected to a Benedictine Monastery, asks families to sign up to pray the rosary one day each month for vocations. We just mark it on the calendar and know that that night’s rosary is for the monks. Our homeschool support group has produced one Carmelite sister, and one young man is now a seminarian. Please keep them in your prayers. I really enjoyed both your blogs.
Peace,
EvannEaster A.
