The photo in my banner above is daughter, Ida, walking in front of the frozen falls at Creve Coeur Lake. Legend has it that an Indian princess fell in love with a French fur trapper, but her love was unrequited. In sorrow, she leapt from the dripping falls overlooking the lake. From then on the lake was referred to as Creve Coeur Lake, meaning broken heart.
