There is a great post on the importance of the family meal over at Esther’s Kitchen. Our schedule is a bit crazy. Because of our daily afternoon dance classes someone was always missing the dinner meal. My husband works 7 minutes away from home, so we decided to have our big meal of the day at lunchtime. He comes home and we all eat together. Dinner is more casual, but the ones who are here do eat together.

While we’re talking about food, the Southern Food & Beverage Museum (SoFAB) has just opened in New Orleans:

More than just a collection of artifacts and photographs, SoFAB aims to become a resource center for serious study of the culinary arts, complete with an ever-expanding library and archives.
