St. Joseph rates two special days in the Church year: The Feast of St. Joseph, Husband of the Blessed Virgin Mary &#8212; March 19, Solemnity, and The Feast of St. Joseph the Worker &#8212; May 1, Memorial. Pope Pius XII instituted today&#8217;s Feast in 1955.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 150px;\"><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><strong>Daily Prayer to Saint Joseph, the Worker<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 150px;\">Glorious Saint Joseph,<br \/>\npattern of all who are devoted to toil,<br \/>\nobtain for me the grace to work in the spirit of penance,<br \/>\nin order thereby to atone for my many sins;<br \/>\nto work conscientiously, putting devotion to duty<br \/>\nbefore my own inclinations;<br \/>\nto work with thankfulness and joy,<br \/>\ndeeming it an honor to employ and to develop,<br \/>\nby my labor, the gifts I have received from Almighty God;<br \/>\nto work with order, peace, moderation, and patience,<br \/>\nwithout ever shrinking from weariness and difficulties;<br \/>\nto work, above all, with pure intention<br \/>\nand with a spirit of detachment from self,<br \/>\nhaving always before my eyes the hour of death<br \/>\nand the accounting which I must then render<br \/>\nof time ill-spent, of talents unemployed, of good undone,<br \/>\nand of my empty pride in success,<br \/>\nwhich is so fatal to the work of God.<br \/>\nAll for Jesus,<br \/>\nall through Mary,<br \/>\nall in imitation of thee,<br \/>\nO Blessed Joseph!<br \/>\nThis shall be my motto in life and in death.<br \/>\nAmen.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Happy Saint Joseph the Worker Feast Day.
