It’s Movie Time!

Here's what we're watching, but just because it's here, doesn't always mean it was good!

Prayer for the beatification and canonization of John Paul II

God our Father, you reward all who believe in you. May your servant, John Paul our Pope, vicar of Peter and Shepherd of your Church, who faithfully administered the mysteries of your forgiveness and love on earth, rejoice with you for ever in heaven. We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen!

Witness for life

Sad to say, but there is an abortion clinic within a 10 minutes walk from our house. Several years ago, my family spent a lot of time picketing in front of this clinic during the 3 times weekly that abortions are scheduled. We would sometimes be joined by other pro-lifers, but for the most part, we (all 8 of us) were on our own. I should mention it took us several years to get our act together and actually get down there to picket, but once we did, we knew we were doing the right thing. Everyday business eventually took over and we gradually fell out of our weekly picketing routine. Recently there is renewed effort and folks are once again starting to stand in prayerful protest at this abortion mill.

40 days

In conjunction with 40 Days for Life, I decided to return to this clinic each Wednesday during Lent. On Ash Wednesday, four of us walked over to the clinic and were amazed to find over 40 pro-lifers picketing and praying. Many were from our homeschooling group. It was amazing to see so many people out there and very encouraging.

If you are not already involved in some type of pro-life pray vigil at an abortion mill, please visit 40 Days for Life and see what’s going on in your area. I highly recommend this type of witness for life to all families.
